solid waste -Transfer station

The Solid Waste Department is responsible for the collection and transferring of solid waste products, that includes residential and commercial waste items. 


Annually, the transfer station manages approximately 840 tons or 1,680,000 pounds of collected waste. 


Collected waste is transferred to an approved US  Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)  facility on a weekly basis. 


The transfer station also manages all commercial open top collection waste bins in coordination with Waste Management Inc.
